Dr. Mackenzie is a Doctor of Chiropractic at Pinnacle Hill Chiropractic in Rochester. With a background rooted in exercise science, human movement, and rehabilitation, she is passionate about helping patients of all activity levels reduce pain, restore function, and build the confidence and skills needed to support their long-term health. She works with patients experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back pain, neck pain, joint discomfort, mobility limitations, and movement-related injuries.

After earning her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Health and Wellness from SUNY Brockport, she went on to complete minors in Biology and Dance. These experiences helped shape her understanding of functional anatomy, biomechanics, and human movement — pillars that continue to influence her clinical approach today. She later earned her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from D’Youville University, where clinical rotations provided hands-on experience treating diverse patient populations and a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.

Her approach to chiropractic care is both hands-on and movement-focused. In the office, she works to reduce pain and improve function through chiropractic treatment, manual therapy, and movement-based care. Outside of the office, she helps patients identify sustainable strategies they can use independently to maintain progress and prevent future setbacks. She believes that while hands-on treatment can provide meaningful relief, long-term success comes from active participation, education, and building trust in one’s ability to move well.

A background in dance and exercise science gives her a unique ability to teach movement in a way that feels approachable, supportive, and easy to understand. Patients appreciate her encouraging style, attention to detail, and focus on helping them feel confident throughout their recovery and wellness journey.

As she continues to grow in her practice, she is currently pursuing continuing education opportunities through the Institute of Clinical Excellence and in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT).

Outside of the office, Dr. Mackenzie enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, kayaking, fishing, and tending to her ever-growing houseplant collection. She also enjoys taking her dog for walks and unwinding with a good book.

Infrared sauna therapy involves the use of infrared heaters to emit infrared light experienced as radiant heat, which is absorbed by the surface of the skin. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the air around you, infrared saunas penetrate deeper into the body, producing a gentle, soothing heat that promotes sweating and detoxification.

Benefits of Infrared Bathing

Detoxification: Sweating is one of the body’s most natural ways to eliminate toxins. Infrared sauna therapy induces a deep sweat, allowing your body to flush out impurities and toxins from your pores, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized.

Pain Relief: The deep penetrating heat of infrared saunas can help alleviate muscle aches and joint pain by increasing circulation and reducing inflammation. It’s an excellent option for those suffering from chronic pain or recovering from injuries.

Relaxation and Stress Reduction: Step into our infrared sauna and feel the stresses of the day melt away. The gentle warmth soothes both body and mind, promoting relaxation and reducing stress levels. It’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Improved Circulation: As the infrared heat penetrates deep into your muscles, it stimulates blood flow and improves circulation. This can help with a wide range of health issues, from cardiovascular health to skin conditions.

Skin Purification: Regular sessions in our infrared sauna can help improve the appearance of your skin by promoting circulation, opening pores, and flushing out toxins. Say goodbye to dull, lifeless skin and hello to a radiant, glowing complexion.

Weight Loss and Metabolism Boost: While sitting in an infrared sauna won’t magically melt away pounds, it can complement a healthy lifestyle by promoting sweating and increasing metabolic rate. It’s a relaxing way to support your weight loss goals.
